Ararat Center News
Find out what we've been up to since we purchased this magnificent facility in 2004.

Food For Thought

Please allow me to introduce myself as a new addition to the Ararat Center family.  My name is Paul Ventura, and I will be joining the Center as the new Executive Chef and Client Relations Manager.  I may be one of the first faces you see when you attend this year.  Please stop by the kitchen to introduce yourself.  I would like to take a moment to tell you a little about myself and some of what you can expect in the upcoming year.

I have been in the food service industry for over 40 years.  Having worked at several restaurants and resorts, I have had the opportunity to work with some very good chefs over the years.  I have received training at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York.  The last 27 years I have been the Food Service Director of the Greenville Central Schools as well as chef/owner of Ventura Catering, handling private parties, weddings and special occasions.  Although having originally received my initial formal degree in the field of advertising, I supposed I was always destined to be a chef and to work with food.  My great grandfathers, on both sides were bakers in Italy.  My grandfather was a pastry chef and my father and uncle were in the restaurant business all their lives.  Now, my only daughter and second child is a pastry chef in Manhattan, a vegan bakery called Blossom. It was meant to be… with no regrets.

I believe the work we will be doing and the cuisine we will be serving will be unique and well received.  If your child will be attending camp here, you will be pleasantly surprised.  Back to the basics, good health meals will be presented each day.  Many of the children’s favorites as well as an introduction to ethnic theme menus will be the bill of fare.  Fruits and vegetables both local and from the Catskill and Hudson Valley will be featured each day.  I encourage participants to meet with me so that their feedback can be put to good use.

If your organization or club is staying at the Ararat Center, I believe you will find the meals presented each day to meet or exceed your expectations.  Again, your input is welcome, and we look forward to customizing your dining experience.  If in the future we can help with family reunions and possible wedding plans, please now consider the Ararat Center as your location of choice.  I believe having the Center devoted to your special occasion is unique. Please allow us to devote our location and talents to your family.  Together we can create great memories spoken about for years to come.
